MAKING TRACKS AT THE HIGH LIFTER ATV MUD NATIONALS!
Another huge turnout marked the 2010 edition of the High Lifter Mud Nationals, held late March at Mud Creek Off Road Park near Jacksonville, Texas. In 2009 this event drew more than 10,000 ATV/UTV enthusiasts, and it's likely that the final attendance figures will meet or exceed that number this year. Recession? What recession?
It's no wonder the High Lifter Mud Nationals have become so popular since the event's inception in 2003. This nearly week-long off-road extravaganza is jam-packed with a variety of competitive activities, a custom show, organized trail rides, live music, fireworks, giveaways and some of the most compelling spectating and camaraderie you'll find anywhere.
Another point of interest for participants is the large vendor area, with manufacturers, distributors and retailers from across the country on hand to show off and sell their latest products and answer questions.
Drawing considerable interest was the MTA display, which featured the Gorilla Silverback tire. Manufactured by ITP, the Silverback is the acknowledged leader in mud performance and was the predominant tire in use at Mud Creek, usually mounted on ITP wheels. The MTA dealers on hand literally sold out of Silverbacks more than once over the weekend, and the MTA booth was kept busy throughout, mounting them up and moving them out. Many enthusiasts chose the 30x10-12 size that only recently became available.
ITP's own Mud Lite XL was also a popular choice at this event, particularly with participants that had traveled some distance to attend. The Mud Lite XL performs extremely well not only in the mud but for most trail riding applications too, offering a degree of versatility and value not found with a pure mud tire.
