ITP/YAMAHA QUADCROSS SERIES: WRAPPING UP 2008, PREVIEWING 2009

The 2008 ITP/Yamaha QuadCross Championship Series came to an exciting close on a warm and windy Thanksgiving weekend at Glen Helen Raceway in San Bernardino, California. With numerous class titles on the line, rider turnout was strong and the competition was heated. To view the final results and standings, visit www.glenhelen.com.

One highlight of the event was the debut of the 2009 Yamaha YFZ450, in the hands of recently crowned 2008 QuadCross Series Champion Dustin Nelson. Despite a broken bone in his wrist suffered only two weeks prior, as well as coming down with a nasty cold just before the event, Nelson pulled the moto one holeshot and comfortably maintained his lead all the way to the finish. A tough start, a sore wrist and his illness caught up with Nelson in moto two, in which he finished third, for third overall on the day. As has been the case all season, Nelson used ITP QuadCross MX PRO tires and ITP T-9 Pro Series Trac-Lock wheels on his new YFZ450.

The final event of the QuadCross Series was also the scene of the annual drawing for a brand new Yamaha YFZ450 equipped with GYT-R accessories and ITP tires and wheels. Throughout the series, all QuadCross participants received one drawing entry for each race they entered. This year's lucky winner was Joey Stella of Tucson, Arizona.

The ITP/Yamaha QuadCross Championship Series will be back again in 2009, in basically the same structure as 2008. The opening round at Glen Helen Raceway will be staged in conjunction with the opening round of the ATVA Pro National Series, and that will be followed by eight more events in Southern California and Arizona. Throughout the season, ITP and Yamaha will be providing invaluable trackside support. Several of the major ATV manufacturers will be posting generous contingency prizes. At the end of the year, Yamaha will once again be giving away a brand new, race-prepped YFZ450. The more times you race, the greater the chance you'll win at the conclusion of the final round!

Whether you're a Pro, Amateur or Youth class rider, the QuadCross Series will provide you with high-quality, rewarding events on the best tracks the Southwest U.S. has to offer. Make your plans today! Keep an eye on the QuadCross Series website (www.itpquadcross.com) for details, updates and results. We'll see you at the races!
