For over 3 years Jacob has been a valuable member of #TeamITP. Learn more about him in this short biography.
Jacob was born and raised in Prescott, Arizona. He began racing BMX bikes at the age of nine and soon progressed to motocross, quad MX & desert racing and UTV short course & desert racing.
After a short hiatus to earn his bachelor's degree at Arizona State University, Carver decided that it was time to re-enter the sport of off-road racing. He picked up where he left off back in 2010.
Carver purchased a 2 seat, 2015 Polaris RZR XP1000 in November of 2014 to convert into a desert race car that could hold up to the most grueling and challenging desert races. He built the chassis in his two-car garage in Prescott and worked with companies that previously supported him in his prior years of UTV racing. Through countless hours of hard work and sleepless nights, Carver was able to build a capable machine for the BITD and SCORE racing series'. In Carver's 3rd race of the 2015 season, he took the overall win at the Best in the Desert Silver State 300.
In 2016 Carver decided to move up to the Turbo class and build a new race car, this time starting with a 4 seat, Polaris RZR XP Turbo. During the 2016 race season, Carver brought home 4 podium finishes in the Best in the Desert racing organization, a 5th place overall UTV finish at the SCORE Baja 500, and a Pro Turbo Class win at the 2016 SCORE BAJA 1000 where he and Sims split driving duties in Sims' Polaris XP Turbo. Carver also took home a 3rd place finish in the BITD points championship for 2016.

Which ITP tire/wheel size and models do you run?
31” ITP Ultracross Tires
How long have you been an ITP rider?
I was first drawn to ITP simply by the reputation of the Ultracross R-Spec tire. The tire is known in UTV Desert Racing as the best tire on the market. Once I ran the tire with extreme success I was hooked. ITP tires can take a beating for thousands of miles with no failures. I constantly pass other UTVs on the race course who are changing other manufacturer’s tires.
Best ITP Story:
The 2016 SCORE Baja 500 was the hottest race I have ever raced in my entire life. Baja terrain is already the most unforgiving terrain in the world, but once you combine temperatures of up to 130 degrees Fahrenheit and blinding silt that turns your sweat into mud, Baja is truly in a class of its own. At the 2016 Baja 500 our team battled through the heat with every problem imaginable. The cooling system in the car could not keep up with the ambient temperatures and the heat was not only physically but mentally destructive to both the racers and chase crew. For several miles of the race, we were forced to race through a dry lake bed in which you could see the heat waves dancing off of the desert floor. The lake bed had sticks, race car parts, blown wheels & tires and hidden rocks throughout. After almost 15 hours of battle, our original ITP Ultracross Tires that we had started the race with were still on the car without any leaks. The Ultracross tires drug us through some of the deepest silt beds with some of the most dangerous tire hazards every raced through in Baja. It was extremely comforting to know throughout the race that we didn’t have to worry about tire failures in such horrible conditions.
